Quality Control Inspector - Temp to Hire

Position Summary

The Quality Control (QC) Inspector is responsible for performing inspections, tests, and evaluations on materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with company standards and customer specifications. This role supports production by identifying defects, documenting findings, and working collaboratively with supervisors to maintain high-quality output in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on manufactured parts and assemblies.
  • Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical documents, and work instructions.
  • Document inspection results using quality forms, checklists, and digital databases.
  • Report non-conformances and work with production teams to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain accurate and organized inspection records in accordance with quality system requirements.
  • Support root-cause investigations and corrective action processes (e.g., 8D, CAPA, NCRs).
  • Ensure products comply with company standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations.
  • Participate in internal audits and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of Quality Control or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace, medical device, electronics, plastics, or similar industries preferred).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality systems (or similar) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation (Excel, Word, ERP or QMS software).
  • Ability to lift up to 30-50 lbs depending on production needs.
